Retake began as Take Note in 1999, took a few years off starting in 2004, and regrouped in 2013 to sing a few songs for old times sake. The old times are still going on!

Raye Trainor is the Tenor whose day job is Dental Hygienist; Anne  Crosby is the Baritone and a retired dental administrator; Sherry McGuigan is the Bass and a Registered Nurse; and, Joanne Ings is the Lead and a non-profit Manager.

Based in Charlottetown PEI, Retake is a registered quartet of Harmony Incorporated, a North American women’s barbershop organization. The quartet competes in regional and international quartet competitions and a long time ago, won the Harmony International award for Top Scoring Novice Quartet in 2000!

With a varied song list, the quartet loves to perform songs from rock and roll to broadway musicals. Birthday greetings, singing Valentine’s, community concerts, weddings and special events are a few of the many gigs over the years. The quartet has also appeared as guest artist with the Caledonian Scottish Fiddle Orchestra of Nova Scotia on a number of occasions.

Introducing Sequence! A quartet formed in the spring of 2015 featuring Carolyn Prime – Tenor; Michelle Arsenault – Lead; Sherry McGuigan – Bass; and Kelly Mullaly – Baritone. Quartets are often the product of a number of sequential situations resulting in four individuals coming together as though fate had meant it to be. For Carolyn, Michelle, Sherry and Kelly the name Sequence was the perfect fit! Carolyn and Sherry have sung together in many quartets throughout their 30 plus years as barbershop singers, including the quartet Ovation who achieved first place regionally (Atlantic Canada) in 2009 and 8th place at the International level in 2010. Both Carolyn and Sherry reside in Charlottetown. Michelle Arsenault began her barbershop experience in Summerside, PEI over 10 years ago as both a chorus and quartet singer. Michelle competed in both chorus and quartet contests during that time. She resides in Richmond, PEI, and has the longest commute weekly to both chorus and quartet rehearsals in Charlottetown. (Thanks Michelle!) Baritone Kelly Mullaly is the quartet’s “newbee” to the world of barbershop, joining Island A Cappella in the fall of 2014. It didn’t take long before she caught barbershop fever and her enthusiasm shines in everything she does! Kelly resides in Stratford PEI. Within 3 months of the quartet’s first rehearsal they were on stage at the 2015 regional quartet competition in St. John’s, Newfoundland. What a wonderful experience! So…what’s next in the sequence of events for Sequence? If fate has anything to do with it, it will be something worth sharing!
